I understand in Abilene Texas I would receive the national feed for PBS which is sd. Anyone know why this is? Was in the boonies of Okla ( over 140 miles from Okla City) and they got PBS in hd. Any way around this?

If your market doesnt have a PBS in it (regardless of what cable gets) you get the national feed. Sadly its in SD 16:9. So you will see black bars on the side sometimes.

The market next to ours in Minneapolis is the same way. Cable gets KTCA 2 from Minneapolis (and most other locals as there is only CBS there) yet on D* its national feed. D* glitched my account last week when I "moved" so I get both my local PBS and the national one. Local PBS is in HD. National is in 16:9 as right now NewsHour has black bars on top and bottom of screen on 389 (nat'l feed)

looking at a list, Tyler, Beaumont, San Angelo, Sherman/Ada and Laredo also get the National feed (San Angelo is not on D* but they would be one that gets that feed as there is no PBS in market)
