PBS Check

Would someone verify that they are getting all of the PBS channels on AMC 21, FR 12180, SR 30000 V. The reason I am asking this is that Saturday night when I turned them on all I was getting was V Me and Create, the other channels were dark with strong signals. Since the Quali TV is a peculiar receiver I decided to clear all of the channels and do a rescan. When I reentered the FR it locked and scanned, but only brought in those two channels. I then went to the Traxis and did a blind scan got basically the same results, only the dark ones also scanned in. I then tried a manual entry on the Traxis, it shows a 72% signal but when it scans it says "no program found." I then checked LyngSat to verify that I had the right numbers and I noticed that they show another mux PBS at 12116, 30000, H. I entered that into the Traxis with the same results.

I hope this is not something like an "encryption test." I have some free time today, so I will keep playing around and see if I can figure this out.

They are all coming here okay with my Traxis. I even did a rescan to see if I would lose them and didn't.

I missed that. I am getting very low signals on 12120 with the Traxis and the Quali.

I think I am having servo motor problem. The wires are brittle and I think I have a short somewhere. I touched one of the wire to move it and I could here the motor turn on.

Went direct into the Traxis and got all nine of them.

I got word that PBS is doing away with the SD channels and they will all by HD by Feburary 18th and that is the reason we are having these problelms, Can you verifiy this?

I have read the same thing...they will be showing just the HD channels and affiliates can zoom the non-HD programs to fit on a SD screen.

There wont be a PBS SD feed but the other chanels (V-Me, Create etc) will still be in SD

That's fine but I wish the people that build receivers would finally give us a "do it all" unit. I'm confused as to why this hasn't happened in North America yet.

Oh well, maybe I'm asking for too much.
