If you buy receiver with pass due amount is there way to have it removed from previous owner account? I remember reading way back that dealers have that ability ?
Dish would rather have their receivers go into the dumpster than to offer a deal to a new owner.
What is the advantage in buying a receiver. You still have to pay the monthly rental fee. If it fails you lost your investment.
If it fails DISH will replace it if it is activated. You do not lose your investment. You will have to pay to have it shipped however. What is the advantage in buying a receiver. You still have to pay the monthly rental fee. If it fails you lost your investment.
Can you return it?Is there someone who can help me clean the reciver I was told past due amount is 1000 or there is no hope
How does one even run up such a bill before Dish cuts them off?

Oh no, Triton! I can definitely understand why that would be completely frustrating! I can't say I would feel an ounce differently. To remove equipment from a previous account, and add it to a new one, the previous account would have to be in good standing with no outstanding balance. The receiver would also need to be marked 'Purchased'. Since we would need the Account Information to clear the balance or share whether it would be 'Purchased'. As other users did suggest, I would contact the seller to see if they could contact us to get it removed or request a refund. -Caleb SIs there someone who can help me clean the reciver I was told past due amount is 1000 or there is no hope
I don't think that's the situation at all. I think DISH does not want to reward delinquent accounts who sell the equipment. If DISH allows these receivers to be used without the account being paid, that would give the sellers a market for the equipment.
It's like paying ransom to kidnappers, it just encourages other kidnappings.
DISH will still replace it even if you own it. I know it for a fact, I have owned all my receivers on all 3 of my DISH accounts for almost 23 years now. Never had DISH refuse to replace one. Still shows as OWNED when I replace them too. What is the advantage in buying a receiver. You still have to pay the monthly rental fee. If it fails you lost your investment.
