I just heard he was killed in a home invasion. Bummer.

Stupid, senseless way to lose one's life. Here's hoping justice is soon served for the Perez family.

I vaguely remember watching Perez pitch in the late 80s at the Big O (I was 12 at the time). IIRC, he had a crazy delivery.

RIP Mate, J

Wow, that sucks. Awful way to go.

I still remember how he missed his first start for the Braves. Couldn't find the exit off I-285 for Atlanta-Fulton County stadium, so wound up circling Atlanta, twice.

Wasn't he the one who was pitching for the Braves against the Padres in 84 when everytime he got up to bat the Padres pitcher tried to bean him (and in term started like 8 brawls)?

I think it was him...

edit: yup was him

Actually...a lot of the islands are going through this.

But I loved this guy when he was an Expo.

Man this sucks. I remember watching Perez and the Braves when my family first got cable back in '82.

Yeah, I remember that, it was a huge brawl.

Once, Tommy Lasorda complained that a gold necklace that Pascual wore was distracting the batters, so had an ump make him take it off. Perez was one of the most entertaining players we had.

Did you get hit by Hurricane Sandy?
