what's the deal with the Pantech 2500?

i've heard of Pansat, but not pantech. does anyone have one or has used one.

thank you
Miguel

as cheap as pansats are getting, hold off and get the real deal ;-)

Ok...!!
i can get a pantech 2500 with ku bank sat, for $236 cnd. + taxes.

Pansat is minimum 250 US just the receiver. Huge difference!!!!

I should i not get the pantech??

Pansat 2500a for $250US? thats a ripoff .. it should be much less, like $149us

Pantech sounds like my Pantec.. good ole knockoffs.. my pantec was $89US

EDIT: The name Pantec comes from PANsat and forTEC.. since they are clones of eachother, and this is a clone of both.. the Pantec PF can run either Pansat or Fortec Star software (mine runs Fortec Star Lifetime Ultra software)

I bought my Pansat 2500A about a year ago for $149.00, I remember seeing some 3500's for a little bit more on fleabay just yesterday. You may want to re-evaluate vendors. Try some of the sponsers here, they have great prices and customer service.:yes

PanTec is china's child labor answer to PANSAT.

When I bought my 1500 a year and a half ago, they were 149...now you can get 2500's or 3500's for about that price...with MUCH more features

When I got my Pansat 2700 not 6 months ago, I paid $150 US.

Today I can get the 3500 for about $10 more...

Prices are probably going to fall even more in the coming months for other reasons ;)

Another thing prospective buyers may want to keep in mind is that Fortec and Pansat etc don't take too kindly to copies of their designs and may implement protection schemes in their firmware to combat this.
At the worst case your receiver could end up as a doorstop if Pansat/Fortec decide to stem these clones in a later firmware release.
