Pansat 9200hd I need help I'm new

I have a Pansat 9200hd and a directv multisat, I 'm new at this and when I tried to do it myself its greek to me can some one help me with what satellites I can catch and how to program it

step 1...throw away that pizza pan dish...its useless except for a couple freebie channels (PPV preview and Nasa)
step 2...get a 30" to 36" dish and a KU Band LNB and enjoy FTA

on a side note...always wonder why people purchase a 400 buck or more receiver and don't have the right size dish at the get-go
