I have seen the pansat 2700 for sale on different websites
They show the 2700 has this feature
"Capable of Setting the Frequency for SMATV System"
i can't seem to find a online manual anywhere
I wonder if its a built in modulator??

Yes, it definitely has a built-in modulator, but I think the question is, is it an agile modulator (can output different bands i.e. UHF, "standard" cable, IRC cable, HRC cable)?

I've seen that same feature listed on the 2700A and wondered the same thing.

I am looking for something that i can plug my CATV line into and will modulate the satellite video and audio onto a channel not being used by cable. for me its anything higher that 85 i think. Then i can get a UHF remote and watch satellite in any room in the house. You can buy separate units that have multiple inputs, but it would be cool to have it built into the receiver.

there's stuff out there that can do that. I have an old coax one that puts Antenna or cable, VCR and 2 other things over the coax

Real figity but it works...It uses like 65,67 and 69 but its adjustable
