Hello TexasBrit,

I am moving to a house in Wylie, 75098 soon and want to install a CM4228 in my attic. Learned that you are doing this without preamp from another thread. Wylie is about 38-42 from the towers.

My CM7000 is on order and I'm still studying threads here and on other forums.

Don't fully understand how the channel line up will change after Feb '09 so my major question is this. What are you doing to receive the VHF lower now or what would you recommend? Will this work after the change as well?

Secondly, I'm hoping all stations in DFW are VHF HI after Feb '09. Is this going to be the case as far as you can tell?

My goal is to pull in all available stations before and after the change. Don't want to pay for cable or dish after moving into the house. Only want to pay for internet later on.

Thanks for your help,

Charles

The CM4228, yes - look at the performance charts and see why people use the CM4228 in situations where there is decent signal strength in VHF-hi. The dips in the theoretical gain curves, by the way, don't seem to be born out in practice. I'm in DFW at 42 miles from the transmitter "farm" and get great reception on VHF-hi with my CM4228. I receive 7,8 and 11 in clear analog, and our only VHF digital station on channel 9 with 90 signal strength on my HR20..

I'm using a CM4228 in my attic in north Garland, right by Sachse and Firewheel. I get a good signal on all the digital channels in DFW.

Thanks StevenD,

Will your antenna work as well for all the digital stations after Feb, 2009?

Will any of the digital stations move back to the lower VHF band? This is what is making me unsure of what antenna to buy now.

Thanks for your help,

Charles
