I have AT120 WITH HBO & Cinemax. Why do I pay the Programming Access Fee of $5.99? I thought you only have to pay this if you don't have any subscription other than like Sky Angel.

you sure it isnt the extended warranty or something?

The access fee is $5 and is only if you don’t take AT60 (SkyAngel is exempt from this charge)

No Iceberg. It actually is called: Programmming Access Fee.

Here's my bill:

DIGITAL HOME ADVANTAGE -AMERICA'S TOP 120 VP/LOCALS 59.99
DISH NETWORK DVR SERVICEFEE 4.98
SHOWTIME UNLIMITED 11.99
DISH HOME PROTECTION 5.99
PROGRAMMING ACCESS FEE 4.99
DHPP CREDIT 3RD MONTH - ADJUSTMENT -5.99
HBOSHOMAX 3MOS 3 OF 3 - ADJUSTMENT -28.99

But I am also not connected to a phone line, because I only have a cell phone. And I am supposed to pay $5 a month for not having it connected to a phone line. Maybe that's what that is for.

Yeah, DVR's have to be connected to the phone line to avoid that charge, I think. Maybe that's just dual-tuner DVR's.

I think all dual tuner receivers have that fee unless a phone line is connected except the 921 and the 721. You must have a second receiver. I think thats what that programming access fee is for.

BRETT I only have one DVR625 and no other receivers. But I think the "No Phone Line Fee" is what they call the "Programming Access Fee". I just thought because I've heard that you pay that fee only if you have no subscription to any of the basic packages.

Yup you're getting charged that fee because you don't have the receiver hooked up to a phone line

OK..now it makes sense...see I have an access fee only because I dont have at least AT60 (I own my equipment and have no contract right now)

ACCESS FEE 5.00
DULUTH MN LOCALS 5.99
WPIX 1.50

no I have a subscription...But since I own the receiver I can get just locals (this is mostly used at the lake where we have like 3 channels...2 fuzzy) :)

What do I get with my subscription

-my locals (ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, FOX)
-WPIX (WB from New York)
-Dish 101
-PPV previews 103 & 500
-Bingo TV 104
-Sirius preview 156 & 919
-NASA 213
-The knockoff shopping channels (all between 216-229 except for QVC & HSN)
-Angel One
-CCTV9 265
-X-Mas music channel 982

And I can get PPV movies or subscribe to Sports packages, Int'l channels, Sky Angel, & porn

Everything else is red in guide

So if you wanna watch a movie, you just need to order a PPV and save all that money subscribing to all those Movie channels repeating the same junk over and over again, stuff you've seen a thousand times already. I think this is pretty cool. I have HBO, Showtime and Cinemax and in the past month I haven't come across a single show I haven't watched several times already. I really start to question the sense of this and spending money on it. Additionally I go to Blockbuster and rent shows from there. So....why am I doing this?? Iceberg you really made me think now... :eureka: :what

when I say PPV thats the PPV channels between 501-539 :)

I could get HBO, Cinemax or whatever if I wanted. (not a movie person so I don't need them) :)

HD Locals in Denver?
