Owon SDS7102 Scope - Deal of the Century on AliExpress - Paying $237!!! WOW!!!

Last week I ordered a digital scope for troubleshooting in the field. Don't want to risk carrying around a calibrated Tektronix in the truck. After researching available units, I decided on a OWON digital storage oscilloscope model: SDS7102 from a reseller on AliExpress for $342 including free DHL shipping. Not a bad deal at that price as it is $465 on Ebay and $518 on Amazon! Options and features include: VGA + LAN + Battery + Portable Bag 100Mhz/1G/s Sample rate, 800x600 LCD

Due to unknown reasons, the seller could not ship from the US, so they contacted me yesterday and refunded $105. Yep.... a OWON SDS7102 for $237 delivered!!! It will take 5 more days to arrive and hopefully everything goes well with the delivery! Have the tracking number and confirmed that it is moving!

Not sure if the seller is accepting any more orders, but the listing is still on the site and it might be worth a try if you are in the market. I am not affiliated with this seller, but wanted to pass on the deal info.

Ive still got my rigol 50mhz hacked to 100mhz. But I have been looking at the new rigol models, very nice, like the owon, a much larger VGA. Ive heard really good things about those owon's, Im sure it'll treat you good

Great deal. Good tracking shows some movement of your order. My small package from China of solid state relays has been "stuck" in Chicago for the last 6 days. Makes no sense to me for the holdup.!sadroll

While linking this thread to a post by spongella, I notice that I didn't tell the rest of the story.

The AliExpress seller ended up being a con artist and used the refund to "trick" the AliExpress resolution system into showing that a dispute had been resolved. After many failed attempts to initiate a refund or even get a response from AliExpress, I recovered the monies only after doing a credit card chargeback.

I repurchased the Owon SDS7102 scope through Amazon for $475 and it arrived within a week. The price is now reduced to $395.

I am very happy with the unit. Very well constructed and a quality build. Two years later, I am still satisfied with the purchase and highly recommend the brand. At the time, I wished I had purchased the optional battery. In reality... found that I only would have used it once at the dish, but instead ran an extension cord....

As for AliExpress.... Extremely poor experience and non existent customer service. I have cautiously purchased again via their service, but only using a major credit card and with the realization that AliExpress doesn't vet their sellers or offer protection to buyers. Welcome to the Wild, Wild West of online sales!

Glad to hear you managed to get your money back on this 'deal'. I've thought about it several times but never bought on AliExpress yet. I have dealt with several sellers on eBay who ship directly from China. I only got one bad deal from those transactions - an FTA receiver with no Dolby support and locked to PAL resolution.
