I would like to watch whatever is showing on my HD TV in my family room in my kitchen on a seperate HD TV. What are the options for sending the output from my Directv HD DVR in the family room to the TV in the kitchen? Is there a wireless AV sender that sends HD signals? Is my only option to run a long HDMI cable through the walls?

Thanks

For the BEST option add a 2nd receiver.

Second best would be going with the HDMI cables, provided the running of them is practical.
You can also get buy with Component cables if that works easier for you, probably much cheaper, try Monoprice.com if you need to buy in length, I'm sure there are many other places, but this is one I have used and remembered off the top of my head.

I use component to feed the 2nd TV in this type of set up. I think the HDMI looks better and would rather have it feeding the TV I spend the most time watching.

HDMI is fine if you can afford the HDMI cable and have access to run it from point A to point B :)

Example :
100 ft Composite cable $ 33 plus tax and shipping
For only $25.03 each when QTY 50+ purchased - 100Ft 3-RCA Component Video Cable (RG-59/u) | 3-RCA Component Video Cable

100 ft HDMI cable $91 plus tax and shipping
For only $83.20 each when QTY 50+ purchased - 100FT HDMI to HDMI 26AWG CL2 Rated Cable w/ built-in Equalizer (Gold Plated Connectors) | 26AWG HDMI Male to Male Cables

I don't know if you need anything of this length, but used it as a referance to price difference.
In my opinion, the HDMI does not offer enough difference in picture to justify the price.
fwiw, I have run the Component route from one room to another using the 100 ft Component route.

I agree, I doubt you would gain enough if any to justify the price difference at that length
