OTA Reception Problem

I have a large Radio Shack antenna in my attic. I'm in Cleveland, Ohio. I cannot receive channel 43's digital channel when I have the antenna wire hooked up to the connection for combined UHF/VHF. If I connect the wire to the UHF only terminals, 43 is strongly received. The problem is, I need the VHF reception for local digital NBC, which disappears if I connect only to UHF. Any suggestions?

Try a pre-amp on your antenna.
