Helping a friend out...
We've got one line running from the antenna into the house (comes in the living room). From this point we split the antenna line into two lines:
Split Line 1: Connects directly to the living room TV. This is a non-digital TV that picks up analog channels. We do not have it going through the power supply as this appears to over-amplify the channels as they are snowy with an amp and clear without.
Split Line 2: This line then runs to the other TVs further into the house which do need the amp. However the problem occurs when we hook the Winegard PS-9370 in this line - the red light goes out.
Through process of elimination we have determined that by having the TV on one line and the power supply on the other it causes the power supply light to turn off. As soon as we unplug the TV the light fires right back on.
Isn't this the proper way to hook it up? Why does it shut off as soon as the TV is plugged into one of the split antenna signals? Is there a better way to hook a TV that can't be amplified and TVs that need to be amplified on the same antenna?
Thanks
