Has anyone else seen 005-1 go down in signal strength lately? I've been at 120-125 strength for months, and now, its always around 91-95. Every other channel is still at 120-125.

Cabby, I'm not sure where you're located, but I'm 55+ miles out from the DC towers. Although WTTG-DT is broadcasting at full-power (1000kW), their DTV antenna is more than 200ft. lower than its competitors (WJLA-DT, WUSA-DT, WRC-DT). Additionally, their DTV antenna it is side-mounted and is located on the other side of the tower (good if you're in Winchester and points north - bad if you're down in Fredericksburg).

I get good reception from March through October, but reception for me is unreliable during the winter months due to their antenna configuration, my distance, and changes in tropospheric conditions. The good news is that WTTG-DT (FOX5) is raising their DTV antenna by July and WDCA-DT (UPN20) will be moving to their tower and going full-power...as mandated by the FCC.

Anyway, where are you located? How long have you experienced this drop in signal level? And do you still receive a reliable signal (i.e. don't break up, etc.)?

I'm in Western Loudoun, about 39 miles away.

I noticed it the day of the snow around here..... Saturday night.

My picture is fine, doesnt break up, no problems at all, but just curious why it went from 125 to 91 in one day. It's still at 91, was hoping the snow melt might make it better somehow since it started with the snowfall.

Good to hear they are raising the antenna, I dont want to have any issues come Redskins season :)

What type of ATSC recever are you using? The reason I mention this is because the signal level meter on my old VOOM boxes changed a couple times then they pushed out new firmware. The signal strength wasn't any better or worse...they just changed the baseline on their signal meter.

Anyway, I haven't noticed any changes with FOX5 on any of my ATSC tuners: Dish 942, Dish 811, Sony DHG-HDD500, and a Sony GWIV, Mits Diamond RPCRT, Samsung CRT w/integrated ATSC tuners.

Good to hear that channel 20 is going full power soon - its the only DC local that I can't receive OTA right now. Thanks for the info....

I don't seem to have any problems with WTTG-DT & haven't seen any drop in the signal meter on this channel. With my 942 signal meter, pretty much all of the DC channels are in the 75-90 range.

It's between 107 and 112 these days. No idea why it fluxuates so, everything else is still rock solid at 125.
