Oregon: the most liberal state of the US?

CORRECTION: I inverted the results on the second and third measure (bellow). Maybe I went to sleep too late last night. This thread should be CLOSED/DELETED and I should go back to SLEEP.

My Original Post:

Based on election results here, it seems that Oregon is the most liberal state in the US:

First, Kerry won over Bush, 52% vs 47%

Second, a measure to prohibit "gay marriage" was rejected, 58% vs 42%.

Third, a measure to create medical marijuana dispensaries was approved, 57% vs. 43%.

While I agree with you that Oregon is quite possibly the most liberal state in the country we should probably clarify:

Measure 33 - Medical marijuana. Failed 58% - 42% (No marijuana dispensaries )

Measure 36 - Same-Sex Marriage. Passed 57% - 43% (Bans gay marraige)

We did unfortunatly elect Kerry by a staggering margin.

While I agree with you that Oregon is quite possibly the most liberal state in the country

To clarify...Multnomah (Portland) and Lane (Eugene) are 2 of the most liberal counties in the US (Transplanted Californian's ) The rest of Oregon is moderate to conservative.
