Well, the 103/105 is official and was shown at Cedia. No pricing yet, and the 93 is now out of production. Should be an interesting Oct/Nov :)

New or Enhanced BDP-103/105 Shared Features:
Latest generation QDEO which supports 4K upscaling
2x2 HDMI. Two HDMI inputs; Two HDMI outputs.
The Front HDMI input supports MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link) which allows some of the newer smartphones to be connected direct to the player and transmits the phones screen to the television. This also allows for ROKU Stick support.
Newest Netflix interface which supports 1080p video, multi-channel audio, subtitle and alternative language selection, and Family Interface
Gracenote for looking up media information such as album art, artist, album, and track information for your CD, SACD, and user generated media
Backlit Eject buttons. No more thumbing around in the dark.
No more analog video. There is a "DIAG" port, but this is to only see the OPPO UI when there is no media playback. So for those of you who use a small monitor for media playback, you will need to upgrade to a DVI/HDMI capable display.

New BDP-105 Only Features:
Fanless (unlike the BDP-95)
Headphone Amplifier
Asynchronous USB DAC
Optical and Digital Coaxial Inputs
Properly oriented XLR outputs

Release Date and Pricing
BDP-103: October-November for a likely MSRP of $499
BDP-105: Late-2012 or Early-2013 for a MSRP between $1000 and $1500

That has been added at AVS. Im hearing no presale since the 103 is near launch, so I may grab one off Amazon when they get some stock in. I emailed Oppo about presale just out of curiosity.

I wonder if it'll be the same remote? I love the feel and backlight, but to me the remote was too bulky and required too much of a button press sometimes.

The hi-res images also confirm the 93 had the 2750 Marvell and the 103 has the 2755 revision. No changes in Blu-ray playback of course, so no real need to upgrade from a 93 unless you need Roku features or 4k/2d to 3d conversion.

The two HDMI input ports are all new to these models. Customers have always asked for ways to take further advantage of the excellent audio and video processing functions provided by the OPPO players, and the two HDMI input port answer this request. Users can connect external devices such as set-top boxes and network streaming devices to take advantage of the players’ video processing power. The HDMI inputs are also convenient for small installations such as a bedroom system where an A/V receiver may not be needed. The front HDMI input port doubles as a Mobile High-definition Link (MHL) input. Users with MHL-compatible mobile phones and tablets can quickly connect to the player to show video and photo on the TV screen.

From audioholics. That is cool as heck. Can anyone say Satellite feed? ;)

LOL!

Here are some pics:

Remote (better design than last year IMO, white back light looks better than orange and the button press is better)

Front (actual buttons instead of the flush mount, nice that eject button is back lit now)

Im currently running the Directv HDDVR on Native (480i, 720p, 1080i) into the HDMI In on the back, with the HDMI 1 out to the plasma and the HDMI 2 out to the Marantz. I have the Oppo set to 1080p/60 out and bitstream audio. It seems to be working real well as a "video processor", image is real good, but I'm not gonna get into it vs. the plasma processing. My thinking is, a lot of these CE devices don't do everything properly, but usually most things. I have more faith the Oppo/Marvell implementation is going to give the most I can get out of scaling and deinterlacing the signal, as opposed to the plasma.

Of course for Blu-ray, video is fed out of HDMI 1 at 1080p/60 to the plasma, and lossless audio is bitstreamed from HDMI 2 to the Marantz. My first impressions are it looks real similar to the 93, and they seem to have tweaked a few things (remote and front buttons) for the better. It is very very fast, the menus fly and even on the "slow start" mode it powers up fast as hell. My only complaint right now is that once it is powered off, and then powered back on, you have to change it's input back to HDMI In Back to get Directv video back, I hope they will change this in the future where it will stay on whatever input you turn it off on.

One small annoyance is that when using HDMI In Back, the front screen scrolls that data, but it is easily fixed by hitting the Dimmer button on the remote and just cutting off all the front lights/display. I'll try and get some speed tests for load times, with the data I already have, so we can see how it compares.
