I was just looking at VOOM's website and I noticed under the buy option for the equipment it now says "one year in home service plan". When I bought my receiver I got a two year in home service plan. Boy, VOOM is really getting tough. Not good to promote new business.

I posted a question about this in home service plan on another thread. Didn't really get an answer though. Question was, the CSR told me that if I move and I take my dish with me, it voids my in home service plan. He said I can take the box and even pull down all the cables and the diplexer and everything else, but I can't unscrew the dish from the roof. The installer will have to go to the old house, unscrew the dish, then take it to the new place. My question was, is there even an inhouse service plan to void on leased equipment?? This didn't make sense to me.

Not to mention that when I move I HAVE to take it with me since I'm renting there and can't leave it up. And it seems like a monumental waste of time for the installer.

Hi:
I would not doubt that our two year service plan has now turned into a one year service plan. I have the brochure that states two years but that same brochure promises 39 HD channels and a free plus pack - both of which have disappeared.

If you signed up when it was two years, it will be two years. If you signed up when it was one year, it will be one year.
