On the new HR10's, are two separate coax feeds from the satellite required to take advantage of your dual tuners, or can you use diplexers requiring just use one coax into your house? And I am not talking about OTA...I know you can run that in on one coax along with the satellite feed.

The single line to recorder is possible..............there are new multiswitches comming along. They are expensive but designed for just what you want to do, Google DTV equipment & multiswitch.

Didn't want to have to buy something extra. Was hoping that this one line capability to deliver signal to two tuners was something that D* might take care of when they install. E* has figured this one out...surely the brilliant minds of D* can do the same!

Right now you need two lines to a DVR. The HR20 is set up to use a new DirecTV system called FTM - it's not available yet, and the details have not yet been announced, but it will allow you to drive the two tuners in the HR20 with just one line. Availability will be some time later this year.
It will look a bit like the E* scheme except it will support all five D* satellite slots.
