Old newbie Question

Being 69 and just learning about some of this, I have this Question. I have a 1000.2 dish with 110,119 and 129 and a 500 dish with 61.5 for local HD and while watching channel 139 TBS ball game on Sunday they change from the 61.5 to the 129 which makes the picture not come in. Why do they do this and can you switch back to 61.5 yourself?

If you don't need 129, disconnect the line from the lnb (or cover that lnb with foil) and run a check switch test and remove it from your setup. Not sure what you can do if you want or need 129.

Thanks for the replies. I will try the disconnect from the lnb and run the check switch. As far as what I use 129 for; that is what was installed by Dish contractor and the 500 was added for local HD on 61.5. I live in NE NC, do you think that I will loose anything by disconnecting 129? Thanks again for your help.

National HD is the same on both 129 and 61.5 so you won't miss anything there. The only thing might be your regional sports network if it's on 129 and not 61.5. Blackout rules are a complication. You may have to put a tin hat on 61.5 if and when you need 129 and v.v.
