Ohio State vs Michigan: Predictions?

I'm not a fan of traditional games/series changing dates.

HD mentioned how tOSU/Big Blue is changing dates- from before to after Turkey Day.

Personally, some other switches dissapoint me.

Two of the traditional day-after-Thanksgiving games- LSU/Arkansas and Texas/Texas A&M- have been moved to different days.

For me, Thanksgiving and the day after used to be set in stone- Cowboys and Lions on Turkey Day, Nebraska/Colorado, LSU/Arkansas, and Texas/Texas A&M the next day.

Now, the NFL has a third Turkey Day game and only Nebraska/Colorado is still on the day after.

Also, Army/Navy will be the week after the conference title games- it'll be by itself on December 12th.

Sabre's,
The OSU game changed dates, but it's STILL the last game of the year for them, thats the more important thing ....
I'm not against the move as it make the lay off a week less .... Big Ten teams have always got dropped in the polls late due to them not playing into Dec. while others do and are fresh in peoples mind.

A few years back you have a very good OSU / Mich game 41-39 or something like that and everyone was talking about it and then because that was the last game and the others had games later, everyone forgot about the Big Ten game and they dropped in the polls.

The polls are definatly biased to the "What have you done THIS week."

Wasn't Michigan the only one that dropped (from 2 to 3, with USC jumping over them)? USC lost a couple weeks later, and all their #2 votes switched to Florida. Michigan didn't lose any votes or even their spot in the poll, but they didn't gain any votes. So Florida leaped them into the #2 slot when USC fell.

And didn't both the BCS Game in Arizona and the Rose Bowl validate that switch in rankings between Michigan and Florida?

Personally I've always liked having the final game of the season on Turkey Weekend. That way the Tech-Georgia game could always figure into the long weekend plans.

It's nice that the Big 10 joined everyone else to put the final game on the same weekend as everyone else has had it on. But either way it's there choice, and in my opinion, that 1 week difference does nothing for competitive balance in the Bowl games.

At least playing the game one week later means it's one less week in between the last game of the season and the bowl game. It just seems bizarre to play your last game on November 21, then not play again until January 1, or even later if you make the national championship game.

And people complain about the MLB playoffs being delayed a few days here and there...

I am sad to report that last night, Buckeye alumn, Chris Spielman lost his wife to cancer.

I think OSU FB coach Jim Tressel made the best remarks about Stefanie Spielman after her long battle with cancer:
“On behalf of the entire Buckeye football family, we send our love, thoughts and prayers to the Spielman family. Stefanie has inspired the entire Buckeye nation and Columbus community with her courage and strength. We will miss her and will always remember the lessons we learned from her. She will always be a special Buckeye.”

RIP Stefanie. Thoughts and Prayers with the Spielman family.

The center of the college football world is Michigan Football. There can only be one all-time winningest football program in college football history...and nobody cares about any other team - they are all equally unimportant. ;)

Just like the NHL consists of the Red Wings and everyone else... :)

:up:up:up:up

Sad to hear that. Chris Spielman was the best linebacker we ever had in Detroit. A true warrior. He will get past this like the warrior he is.

Maybe for 364 days of the year, but on the Saturday prior to Thanksgiving, we all know where the TRUE center of the college football world resides. ;)

O-H-

I-O!!!!!!!

Anyone else tailgating for THE Game?

I've got Pandora set to the Pink Floyd channel and the Grey Goose is flowing. It's time to get this party started!!!! :D

I REALLY like the Buckeyes chances in this game.

Pryor's playing better, not turning the ball over, and the running game has improved recently- given how good Beanie Wells was, I felt this would be a tough task.

Also, take the Michigan defense.... please.

HD or Sandra would look like the second coming of Eddie George running against the Big Blue's so-called defense.

AMEN SabresRule!!!! Go BUCKEYES!!!!!!! I'm so stoked. I can't wait till high noon!

OK, who had that signature showing an example of crazy talk? Perhaps it's time for a replacement. :D

Oh come on. If you were in my shoes you'd be pumped too.

Oh how I can't wait! I'll be among a mass of Buckeye fans at the local bar watching on a 50 foot (yes, 50 foot, not inches) diagonal HD projection screen. Oh yes, I can hardly wait!

Yep, I suppose I too would be pumped if my team were going to crush their opponent like a woman with big feet stepping into a vat of grapes. :(

Please excuse me while I wine (pun intended) some more about RR. :p

I don't see the big deal about this game. Michigan is horrible, and OSU is decent. I guess there is nothing else on at 12 or something.

I believe you are correct.
