OFFICAL: I am STAYING with DISH Network thread

Since we have an official I am leaving DISH Network thread, some folks have asked if we can have and official staying thread.

So here it is.

Yes I have what I need at a great price and the HD DVR is very good. Staying put w/ Absolute HD until forced to do something else.

I am also staying put. I am interested in seeing what happens with google tv. I am not a sports person, and although I watch the Fox terrestrial network, I am not really interested in the other Fox channels - so the dispute has no effect on my viewing. I would like to see my local PBS and CW in HD, but that is my only real complaint.

Best new feature - my DVR's fan no longer whirls for 5 minutes during the resets. It is nice and quiet.

If you guys lose your local Fox station on November 1st, would you still stay put?

I know some have OTA access, so it wont affect you.

Same here. The only thing I miss at the moment is NatGeo. I never watch sat locals since the OTA locals have better quality, zero rain fade, and subchannels. Fox can go to blazes for all I care (except for Nat Geo).

Certainly it's still cheaper than cable and you can do some things you can't with cable.
Lets just watch TV.

I have my gripes with dish. However still best dvrs out there. I'm out of contract and still value wise dish is very good.
My family loves dish- very comfortable with dvrs.
I'm not going anywhere.

4 recordings at a time with one box (722K). PLUS, I have ALWAYS gotten nothing but the BEST customer service, time after time, never paid and extra penny for it. And most recently, just asked for 3 mos HBO/Showtime...done! Not going anywhere. And the recent channel drops don't bother me at all...especially since they are TEMPORARY!!!

Im going reduce my package with Dish, and get Directv.

Im not going to cancel Dish, but they will get less money from me until they get the channels I want such as Fox Sports and MLB Network.
