Recently moved into new house. Had H3 moved over to it and then a couple days later cable company came by and installed internet service for me. In the past I had always used my cablemodem and router but when the cable guy showed up I found I hadn't brought that over to this new house
All seemed to go well with both installs and I was pretty pleased. Noticed that VOD would time out and then pop an error about a server timeout, then after that when going to VOD it would indicate no internet access. But it was twitchy, sometimes would show the list of VOD titles but no allow for playing any of them, sometimes not even doing that much.
During all this time the internet was rock solid for everything except the Hopper 3. I could literally watch it get and lose wireless connection. So tried wiring the H3 to their router, same thing get and lose connection. No seeming rhyme or reason.
So I got tired of it and new that my router/modem combo had been solid, so I went and got them, called the cable company to provision my modem and checked. Aha, all was wonderful! Still no clue why the H3 didn't get along with their Technicolor cablemodem/router combo, but I'm working fine and by not using their gear and wifi, save something over $10/month.
