Just bought Nooelec's newest version (1.3) upconverter. With an SDR dongle attached you can receive LF, MF, and HF, all modes. Tried it way down on 285 KHz where the DGPS signals are, does a good job, MW BCB comes in loud with strong signals, and works very well on shortwave bands. Price was reasonable, 35 bucks plus about 7 dollars in change for shipping (Ebay). Needs 5V to power it via a USB plug.
When the weather gets cold want to see how sensitive it is receiving LF aero beacons.
You need to use the RF gain judiciously to prevent overload if using a big antenna.
Good value for the money.
