No New Studio for Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show

Despite months of planning, Jimmy Fallon won't be getting a big, new $25 million studio at 30 Rock after all when he takes over The Tonight Show and moves it to New York in 2014.

I like the studio the way it is, the upper level where part of the band is, is interesting, hope they keep it that way.

So does Leno slip-away quietly and host weekend comedy gigs from time-to-to, or does he get a new show with Fox? If he wants to continue doing late-night, I'm sure Fox is going to give him a time-slot. We shall see.

Why?

If people want to watch him (and most late night viewers seem to), then if he wants to host a show somewhere else (Fox), then more power to him. If Fallon can't compete against him, that's an indictment against Fallon, not Leno.

I get the feeling Fox is going to jump on this because they have nothing but reelz of prepaid informercials during these timeslots. Leno would be more than happy to give 'em a 90-minute show and bad-mouth NBC execs and their ratings. Hell, he can even spend 10 of those minutes rebating that talentless lump known as Conan. I see it happening since...unless they pay him a healthy severance/retirement.

I like Jimmy Fallon , but honestly I don't watch late night tv anymore . I go to bed by 11:00 and up by 6:30am and I barely can keep up with my primetime recorded shows.

I don't know I thought that the aquarium on the Chevy Chase Show was way better than the rest of the show.

You really can't extrapolate overall ratings from your own preferences. NBC has been mired in fourth place all seson.
