Dear Satellite Internet Subscriber,

As we previously announced on the C-Band web site, the assets of the wholesale provider of the Cband.net service, Internet Satellite Platform, Inc. (ISAT) have been acquired by Synergistic Communications, LLC (SynComm) following the bankruptcy of ISAT. SynComm is attempting to rebuild and improve the services which ISAT formerly provided. SynComm is currently assuming all subscriber support and customer service responsibilities for the cband.net service on both Ku and C band. It now has become apparent that SynComm has not been fully successful in replacing the services previously offered on AMC-4 particularly in the northern portion of the continental US and has experienced difficulties with C band Internet service on SatMex 5 which is an interim replacement for the C band services previously provided on AMC-4. The transition to SatMex 5 has created both technical re-point challenges and some throughput (download speed) issues. It now appears that these problems will not be solvable on this satellite; therefore, service on this C band carrier is scheduled for termination on the 15th of February,

SynComm is offering to those subscribers currently using C band dishes for reception of the signal an option to convert their service to Ku band which is currently provided on AMC-6. The Ku band service will be available at $39 per month without dial up service or at $49 per month with dial up service included. These prices will apply to both those cband.net subscribers who are currently on AMC-6 using Ku band as well as those who transition to AMC-6 as a result of the C band service being discontinued. These new prices will be applied beginning with the payment which covers service for April. Hardware for dedicated reception of the Ku band signal is available for the next 45 days at a cost of $40 to cover shipping and handling. There is no charge for the equipment.

Call our offices at 866-367-4728, option 2, to order the hardware kit which consists of a stand alone .85 cm dish, Ku band LNB and tripod mounting bracket. The same satellite modem with software parameters in the attached PC will be used to receive the Ku band signal but the splitter and voltage block coupler in use between the C band antenna and receiver will no longer be needed since the reception of Internet will be completely independent of the C band receive equipment.

In the interim and during the conversion, dial up Internet access, if included in the plan offering which you have subscribed to, will continue to be provided. For dial up only usage, you must disable the satellite support by right clicking the oval (satellite dish) or the satellite circling the earth icon (versus the round B2C2 icon) and "EXIT" the Main Data application.

Please call or email tech support at support@syncommllc.com with any technical questions or email migration@syncommllc.com with any customer services questions.

Thank you very much for your continued support and business as SynComm continues to rebuild this business. SynComm believes that better service and higher reliability can be provided by implementation of these changes.

Best Regards,

The Team at
