I updated to the Carbon UI, but my Joeys remain on the old UI. On the Hopper, the "Available Joey Software" says "N/A". Any way to force the Hopper to check for/download the latest Joey software?

I thought the Joey software was downloaded along with the Hopper's software. It's not a case of it only downloads the s/w if there are Joeys either - it downloads ALL of it. I have Joey s/w for a Joey 1, Super Joey, Wireless Joey, and 4K Joey in addition to the Joey 2 s/w.
Where did this procedure come from? Something new, don't recall seeing it before. Good infoMaybe try resetting the Joey/clear it's NVRAM...hold power and ch. up on front of Joey...when it powers on, release the power button but keep holding the ch. up button..
You'll see the screen change..at that point release the ch.up button.

Have you heard of that procedure in post #5?And how will that help the Hopper that has no Joey software available?

ThanksYes. It's used to start the boot recovery process.
And as you're suggesting, it won't help put s/w on the Hopper, which is the core issue.Yes. It's used to start the boot recovery process.

I've seen this before on new units during installs. Occasionally I've been successful fixing it by forcing the System Install Wizard which searches for software. You can start the wizard from the Diagnostics screen by pressing Info > Recall > Info > Recall.
If that doesn't work you might try contacting DIRT to see if they know any tricks. Good luck.
I've never had a Hopper do a software download without joey software the minute it was finished downloading. If it don't show as available joey software on the hopper, then it's the hopper having an issue. I've had it take up to 6-8 hours to see joey software before.
I only get software updates about once a week from Dish...
I'm not going into details of why I get s/w from dish that often. I've had problems receiving s/w before, it's pretty common.
The hopper reset will make it download the s/w again, which should eventually make it download the available joey s/w.
Thanks for the tip, I ran through that, and immediately following, there still was no Joey software available. It may not work, as I don't have active service any more. I upgraded to Carbon a couple days before I canceled, because I was curious to use the new interface. I've since canceled service, and will need to return the boxes soon. The Hopper and Joeys still operate fine otherwise, I still get the Dish help channels, and can still watch my DVR recordings. Once I work through the remaining shows I want to watch before returning the receiver, I may try the hopper reset.
That's a key part of the problem right there. If you don't have active service, then you're receivers are no longer targeted to get s/w updates. Once that deact / deauth is sent to them, they are not spooled any longer in the production s/w.
