NHL Network sound

I was watching the Wings on NHL Network last night, a REALLY good game, and the sound kept going up and down some times I could not hear much and when I turned the volume up I would get my ears blasted after a while.
This seems to happen on Center Ice a lot.
Any one else notice this?
Who should I complain to E* or NHL Network?
I have no idea how to complain to CI.

I watched last 10 mins of the third period and the OT and didn't have any issues.
