I have heard that the NFL ticket on Shaw will only be available if you live in the foot print of Anik G1.
Would anybody know if that is true?

Thanks...

In past years they have not had all games in HD due to space constraints. They are advertising all games in HD this season, so the smart money would be on them using G1 transponders for at least some of the games.

So maybe you get some games without G1 (depending on how they allocate space) but it'll be a weekly crapshoot on whether your game is on F2 or G1. So functionally, you'll need G1.

NFLST will only be offered to subs with XKu LNBF + 6XX receivers.

Last year, they offered standard def feeds on F1R in MPEG4 that required 6XX receivers. This year, all HD NFL feeds not available on Canadian locals + Rogers Sportnet channels will be placed on the 2 open transponders on G1. Since only 6XX HD receivers decode MPEG4, standard def feeds are redundant and unnecessary this year.
