Sometimes, looking at NFL playoff schedules and the times the games occur make me wonder sometimes.
For instance:
1. The AFC Championship Game on NBC, from January 1989 to January 1996, was always the early game. How come the AFC title games were never in the late timeslot? After the Browns/Broncos 'Fumble' game, the AFC would not get another conference title game at night until BillD's Pats faced the Jags in January 1997
(It would have been pretty damn cool if Buffalo hosted an AFC title game at night).
2. In January 1991, the Bengals/Raiders playoff game got the marquee announcers and the late timeslot, even though it was less glamorous and entertaining a matchup than Dolphins/Bills?
(They could have made Bengals/Raiders the late game on Saturday and given Dolphins/Bills the marquee treatment early on Sunday).
3. Why was Chargers/Dolphins the late Sunday game in January 1993? Bills/Steelers, IMO, was a bigger matchup. They could have flip-flopped the games in terms of which weekend day and time of day.
