He leaves his feet to make the catch, he loses control coming to the ground. He should have focused on the catch. It's the equivalent of taking your eyes off the ball and dropping it.
Yes, he left his feet, went up to catch the ball and CLEARLY has both feet back on the ground and control of the ball ... its right there in your 1st picture . AND in the 1st picture he MAY be over the goal line even there.
Yes, the ball can touch the ground during a catch, as long as you have control of it. He doesn't though.
