Reminds me of wrestlers in high school and college taking water pills to dehydrate themselves before a match in order to make weight. Beer is just another chemical that will dehydrate your body until there's little water left.
I once, many, many years ago did an all beer diet. The only thing that went into my body was beer for 4 weeks. I drank a lot of it! Yes, I did lose weight and I got dizzy and trembled at the end. My body told me "enough of this s***" and I listened. I followed it up with a nice rib eye, baked potato with the works and salad. Oh! I had a few beers with that too!
