Looking forward to experimenting with one of these.

Thanks, Brian. I will keep that in mind. I swapped out the 27 inch Tube for a LCD/LED 20 inch for the microHD.But the back TV is not swapped. Will remember that for when we take it on the road... If I do not change out the TV first! (need a 25 inch up front!!)

Brian, I've read a couple posts by you condemning serial ports on hacker boxes. Why does this have one? Does it make it easier to fix the box if something goes wrong? Maybe no need for the usb ttl converter like the microHD?

Just wondering, Catamount

HUH??? You will need to give some examples of my serial port condemnations.

Simple answer: The microHD is... well, micro. :D We chose TTL port on the PCB to minimize the footprint.

Maybe you're thinking of a WiFi connection?

I apoligize, Brian!! Somehow I had it in my mind that you were against serial ports. Personally, I believe it is a good backup for loading firmware if the USB port might go bad. I have the third Pansat 1500 ever made, and back then it was all serial ports. When my power supply went bad years ago, and I replaced it , it wouldn't load by serial. I had to learn about j-tag.

After three months I fixed it and it's still going strong.
