Please remove me from the newsgroups as the old site had done, also where did my avatar go? do I need to upload to the new site?

No need to remove you from the Newsgroups on this software as they are seperate, On the top you will notice there are two bars, one marked New Posts and the second marked New UseNet Posts.

The New Posts only shows posts from SatelliteGuys.US and the New UseNet Posts only shows the newsgroups.

Yes you need to upload your avatar again, that was one of the few things that was announced that would not be carried over.
