The following are links for the more recent 1.5.7.158 versions of the WebSlingPlayer. I've used the IE & Firefox ones without problems... I don't use Chrome but someone over at DishSupport tested and was able to work with Chrome 16 ... which is not currently supported by the 1.5.2.126 versions which are standard for Dish Online & Dish Remote Access.

http://plugin.slingbox.com/downloads/msi/1.5.7.158/WBSP_IE_Setup.exe
That's for Internet Explorer

http://plugin.slingbox.com/downloads/pc/1.5.7.158/WebSlingPlayer_chrome.crx
that one is for Chrome (use chrome to open the url so it auto installs)

and this one:
http://plugin.slingbox.com/downloads/pc/1.5.7.158/webslingplayer.xpi
is for FireFox.

Enjoy!!

I currently have 1.5.2.125 for firefox. When I click on the link above, firefox wants to install the plug-in. Can I just let it install right over 1.5.2.125, or should I uninstall it first?

Love you man!

Thanks TG2 for some reason my Firefox didn't automatically download the new version.

I installed this on Chrome and cannot "watch on web" this is true for both DVR recordings and live TV....

yes ... can install over top of .. can also click the link using IE (yes, firefox link) and IE should prompt you to save file ... thus you can manually go into Add-on's and uninstall the old, install the new if you want.

Do these also support stand alone slingboxes via slingbox.com?
These are those plugins.. came from plugin(.)slingbo:mad:.)com.

at worst they are beta .... at best Dish is behind on updating to them (though since the plugin site is controlled under the slingbox domain, it could be a holdback on their part).

Thanks a lot TG2! For the first time, dishonline and dish remote access both work on all of my computers! I have always had the problem where the sling adapter would never work while at home on my own network. The sling adapter always worked over the internet but never worked at home on my own network, until now. (I would always get Error 36, or Error 2 when I tried to use the sling adapter at home on my own network).

Finally, after months of troubleshooting, the problem turns out to be with dish's browser plug-ins. (TG2 and pabeader, I don't know if you remember, but you guys tried to help me troubleshoot this problem a couple of months ago, and we could not figure out why the sling adapter would not work on my home network). Now, with the new plug-in software everything appears to work as expected!

Thanks again TG2 for posting the link!

As for the Thanks & Kudos .. all are welcome....

as to the "now I'm fixed" ... its not that I'm such a pessimist in everything.. but would rather hear after 2, 3, or 4 days with it repeatedly working, that its still working before anyone say they are fixed... Dish & Sling are at best a voodoo chant away from mysticism, smoke, and mirrors. :)

I installed the Crome plug in, so no I was not able to view on web before. I wanted to install on Crome and make sure it was working before I installed the Firefix and IE plug in....this was on the Dish Remote Access site (dish.sling.com) I think its working for Dish Online. As some many users state and I agree, I perfer Dish Remote Access....

were you able to before?

While I agree with what you said, I can tell you with 100% certainty that this plug-in has fixed all of the problems that I was having with the sling adapter. This is my 3rd day with the sling adapter working correctly!

As I said in my post above, I would always get Error 36, or Error 2 when I tried to use the sling adapter at home on my own network. This happened with all of my computers, both wired and wireless. I tried repeatedly for several months, and it only worked a couple of times (...tried both IE8 and Firefox). Now, with this new plug-in, the sling adapter works every time on the first try with all of my computers, and it is now working with both IE8 and Firefox. Both DRA and Dishonline are working (I like DRA better).

Last time I remember someone having the 36/2 messages.. the issue was as the error kind of states.. "was able to connect" but now can't.. one person it was reported had some sort of 3rd party download program and that was attempting to download rather than handing the stream off to the stream processing components..

What it suggested to me... was that something didn't get registered quiet correctly, to redirect what part of the communications stack or maybe only the Mime type .. to allow the stream to stream rather than download or block.. etc...

Last month I also noticed that it also shows programs live over my home network but heck, it won't show my DVR Events from Dish Online on my home network or away from home. It used to in the past but no more. Dish Network did not contact me back in regards to the issue either so obviously they have no fix for it and trying to avoid the problem. What a bummer. Sling Adapter has bugs that need worked out before it is a viable option to do much with it.

Weird DVR behavior
