I switched over to Dish Network in December in order to get the 811 HD receiver for my living room tv. I was reading about receiving the OTA HD signal by buying the Zenith silver sensor antenna. Today, I picked one up.

Now my question is, and please ignore my ignorance, but where do I hook up the antenna? Do I hook it up into the 811 receiver itself, or do I go directly to the tv? Thanks for any advice.

If your TV has an ATSC (HDTV) tuner, hook it up directly to the TV. If it doesn't, hook it up to the 811 where it says 8VSB Antenna/Cable In. If you use the latter, be sure to scan digital channels. Menu, 6, 1, 5......

Put a splitter on the antenna feed and hook it to both. Your DTVs ATSC tuner may be better than the 811's. If it isn't, the 811 seamlessly integrates the OTA w/ the DBS channels and adds OTA channel programming information to the EPG.
