I have recently acquired a 6' cband dish and I am going to put the pole in the ground tomorrow, but how do I go about aiming the dish? I am very familiar with regular dishes and have dabbled into KU in the last few years, but C-band seems way more complicated, does anyone have any tips?

thanks.

Since you are putting in the pole tomorrow make sure you have a clear shot to the south and that the pole is plum if it is not you can have tracking problem.
If you go to the search you can find a lot of info on how to set up a cband dish

There are three or four pages on the Geo-Orbit site, that cover all the fundamentals of BUD install 'n align.
I know the pages look ancient, but everything you need to know is there.

Of course, this assumes a prime feed dish (LNB centered in front of the dish).
If you happen to have an offset feed dish, let us know for some other thoughts.
And, by all means, post a few pictures of the dish, mount, motor, front 'n rear.

As stated, and since you have not stated whether you will have a motor turning it, have a good view of the sky to as far east to as far west as you can manage, and make the pole as plumb as possible. Use a long carpenter's level if it's windy, using both edges of the level, and reading it at 90 degrees apart on the pole. Brace if necessary with guy wires, but, if used, connect then so that they clear the movement of the dish from east to west.
