Hi all...
Have a relative who's looking to subscribe to Dish HDTV. He's currently a Charter cable subscriber (We're in WI). Charter advertises that with their HD system, you'll get locals in HD (where available). Is that the same with DISH? We get Milwaukee locals with the local channel package. HIs HD OTA antenna is not strong enough to pick up locals very well so he would need the HD to come from the Dish.

I guess what I'm asking is the differences between the Dish HD package and Charter's HD package (pros/cons). I'll be looking to upgrade to HD next year also. We want to make sure we can watch football on Sundays in HD (along with other local programming).

Thanks for all your help.

Dishnetwork does not have any locals in HD yet, but they will start offering them in 5 markets starting next month, then 5 markets each month after

Milwaukee is DMA # 33

So Dishnetworks keeps up with 5 locals each month, you be looking at June or July 2006 for your locals in HD

So if your relative wants to see locals in HD right now, he will need the OTA antenna :)

To compare other HD Programming options you can see my webpage Here
