New to Directv; Question about setting up recordings

I just switched from Dish to Directv and I am trying to set up recording on my iPad app. When I go to set up a tv series that I want to record only the new episodes is there anyway to do that. I know when you set up recordings on Directv you can chose to record all episodes or "first run" episodes but I dont see they have that option for the online and apps. I dont really want to set up the recording so they record all of the episodes, just the new ones.

I've not seen a way to do that with the apps but if you set it as record first runs only as default on the DVR then that's what it will do each time you record a series. The first few times I set the recording from the app and then went back into the DVR to change my preferences to first run only until I saw that setting. You can also put your default begin and end recording pad times.
