New Sports Channel for overflow
MSG and FSN NY broadcast NY Rangers, NJ Devils, NY Islanders, and NY Knicks games. On occasion more than one game is played at the same time and an alternate channel must be designated to carry the “overflow” game. During the 2006/2007 sports season, 37 dates will require broadcasting of sporting events on an alternate, "overflow" channel position. For two of the 37 dates, two alternate overflow channel positions will be required. As previously announced, analog feeds of overflow games will be carried on the Cablevision Channel Guide.

In order to provide our digital customers with the best picture quality, iO Sports2, a digital overflow channel will be launched to televise digital feeds of overflow games for MSG and FSN NY. iO Sports2, on channel 414 will be available to iO digital customers in all areas except Wappinger Falls, Dutchess, and Hamilton/Allentown (Corps 7883, 7817 and 7874). Analog feeds of overflow games on the Cablevision Channel Guide (see FC 830 for details) are available in all areas.

The launch will take place over a three-day period according to the schedule below. The first overflow game to be aired on iO Sports2 will be on Saturday, November 4, 2006, (Atlanta Thrashers at New York Islanders). A slate will appear on channel 414 between overflow games.

Plans for dates when a second overflow channel is needed (the first of which is on Saturday, November 18) are in development.

Guess this confirms what was discussed a few days ago on Yahoo groups. Glad there is a digital overflow channel finally. Now more HD please CV!!! Looks like Great Neck/Lynbrook systems are not getting the digital overflow channel, I currently do not have a channel 414. Check out today's games (11/4) schedule: http://www.optimum.com/pdf/the_game/november4.pdf

Quick follow up, it appears GN & Lynbrook won't have channel 414 for the game's tonight, but on the 11th when the overflow happens again, GN & Lynbrook will have channel 414. The previous systems excluded in Sean's post will still be excluded.

Bottom/Top and/or sides are chopped off???
