New Software Updates Discussion Thread

  • Server Issues.

We are very aware that there have been system issues the past few days. In troubleshooting the system, it has been determined that the issue is at our provider and is hardware related. As of 12:05 PM ET our provider has moved us to a new server.

Things seem to be running better on this new server. However in trying to diagnose the issue (before finding out it was a hardware issue) we made some system changes which we need to undo. So if you find any issues or errors please let us know in the Operations Center Forum.

Thank you for your patience! Sorry for the issue!

Just check RandallA's thread with the spooling info - no need to guess or hope.

Smith, P.

I saw his thread. I'll restate it. I hope E* decides not to spool this update to the rest of the receivers out there, so my other one doesn't get it ;)

5.10 adding the external folder is 'ok' but the fact that there are no folders inside of it.....is a waste IMO. Sorting programs by alpha would have probably been enough

and so far 5.10 screwed my locals HD. Tears, skips and the same thing you see when a storm hits and you are right at the drop out point of signal loss.
I am still looking for ways around it other than don't time shift HD on my lils

I even rewound > hit record > playback was 'crap' and only worth deleting

all other HD works perfect but locals are messing up since the update. It could be unrelated to the update but my HD locals and just bad timing....grrrrrr

guess time will tell what's wrong

Getting the exact same thing here, but not just on my HD locals...any HD I record I get skips, break-ups, jitter.

I remember this same bug in the early 4.xx updates somewhere...and now it's back. I hope it's fixed very soon... (hate that word)

STUPID. They need to stop releasing it and re-release it with the correction for the hd locals.

More than just hd locals are being affected. My recording of BSG on SciFi-HD was very affected. Several HD movies (one from Starz-HD, another from HDNMV) that I DVR'd are both affected to various degrees.

They need to fix this one fast. It's extremely annoying. :(

I noticed on the 4.39 update for 211's that when you hit info twice now and the second time it shows a Satellite Icon to show you what Satellite the channel on.

The last time they did this exact thing, a year ago, they rolled back the software a few days later (one of the only times they ever rolled back to a previous version). Hopefully they will do that Monday morning.

Nope.
Seen that rollback for 2700 many years ago, and for 501 as I recall.

In case you don't understand his statement, he didn't say they've NEVER rolled back software to receivers. He said it's one of the only times... or in other words, they don't do it routinely.
