I have some questions about installing HD on my system at home. Currently I have a R10 in the front room and a old RCA receiver in our bedroom. What I want to do is rotate the RCA to my sons room, rotate the R10 to our bedroom and put in a new HR22 in the front room.

I want to use the AU9-S-SWM-B-PWS antenna with the 8-channel multiswitch. I believe this has two outputs, correct? What I am trying to figure out is how to connect it including the legacy devices? I would rather not have two satellite dishes but maybe that is the best way to go economically. None of the connection diagrams I have seen seem to show legacy connections using the LNB. They only show new devices with SWM ports or Legacy connections with the seperate multiswitch with legacy ports.

Also, according to the training manual linked to in various places in this forum, I would need to also get a ASL (Alignment Signal Locator) . I have a Acutrac22 Pro already.

you cannot use legacy equipment with the SWM LNB, it has only one output, and no legacy outputs. If you want to use SWM for your new equipment and legacy with your old, you will have to use a non-SWM LNB and get a SWM-8 switch. You will only need the one switch since you only have 3 legacy tuners. Any additional legacy tuners and you'd need a WB68.

As to the ASL, I *think* that's only required with the SWM LNB, but a real life installer can answer that for you here.

I don't know what happened here, but I have decided to just got with the SWM LNB and suffer with two dishes until I can upgrade our other equipment. Which may be awhile since they work fine right now.

It is cheaper for me to get the antenna and DVR as a package than to buy the Dish, Multiswitch and receiver seperatley.

I don't see a definitive answer yet to the ASL, but I believe that I do need it.

Thanks for your help.
