Hi,
Yes, this is my first post here, but I've been lurking for quite a while. Finally took the plunge and got a 'real' fta setup. I've got a Foretec Lifetime Ultra (used), Fortec 90cm offset dish, Invacom QPH-031, and SG2100 motor. It was a chanllege to setup, but the installation help and forums at Sadoun are Awsome!

So... first - how can I tell (from looking at Lyngsat) what is Linear and what is Circular polarization? Is AMC 9 Circular?

I don't seem to be picking up much on G10R; I've read that's one of the better FTA sat's but my quality is really low... Seems fine on other sat's (IA5 is very strong, also my true north). Is that just a weak sat? Would 'tweaking' of the dish be a good idea when everyting else looks ok?

Thanks in advance!

AMC-9 is all Linear!

Circular signals will say Right or Left polarity

Linear signals will say Horizontal or Vertical

Some TPs on G10R are pretty weak. Try changing TPs if you haven't to see what you're getting. Yes, you need to tweak it some more. Your dish might be slightly of the arc too since G10R is farily far to the west if IA5 is your TS. My receiver is down now (Coolsat 5000 on the way, then my Fortec is headed for the shop), but before I was struggling to get G10R since my dish was off alignment. Even if your dish is just slightly off the arc, the further away your go from your TS, the weaker your signals will be.

On Lyngsat, in the left hand column where it has TP freq and polarity, like PSB said if it has R or L it is Circular, and if it has H or V it is linear. The 031 LNB is so awesome...I'm really glad I chose it and I'm sure you are/will be too.
