New remotes

How about calling DISH and telling them you have to terminate service because your remotes are unusable? I've gotten a free remote before just for the asking.
 
If you have the protection plan just call them and tell them yours is not working. I accidentally washed a remote one time because it was on the bed when I grabbed the sheets off the bed to wash them. Dish replaced it for free.

This is true. I just asked for a replacement since one of mine is starting to go and they're sending one out at no charge. I have the protection plan so it may free because of that but even if you don't, it doesn't hurt to ask for one if you're a customer in good standing.
