I was surprised they came to consensus so quickly. This should be a good development for the Catholic Church.

Back to my irreverent self: my first reaction was, "Joseph Ratzinger? Wasn't that the guy that played 'Cliff' on Cheers?"

Also, did anyone else happen to catch the Papal attack ad (in Latin, natch') on "The Daily Show" that compared Cardinal Ratzinger to Martin Luther? It's about 3 minutes into this video link. Hopefully, nobody's offended by this

My Respect for the former Pope was lifted a few minutes ago while watching a Replayed Csi from the day before he passed away...(had a NY 9:00 news clip) I remember seeing him on wed. trying to talk and bless 2 days before he passed... did his job till the end...
