I started FTA back in Jan w/a 18" dish (Nasa/Angel) since then I have been looking all over for a larger satellite dish, not in use. Well, my search has finally paid off. One of my friends has a neighbor that is no longer using their 10' dish and are dying for someone to take it down and haul it off. I'm the lucky guy!! I'll start taking it down next week and slowly putting it up at my house - so i'm sure over the next few weeks I'll be asking questions (again).

First question I have is will my current receiver be able to handle C Band? It's a Digiwave 7200S and there is virtually no support for it-the model was discontinued back in '07(?)

Should I just aim for a satellite and see what it will get? I don't think I will have any problems picking up Galaxy @123.

yes it will work for both C& KU Band

you just have to set up the LNB Frequency to 5150 instead of 10750

I went by today to take a look at what I was getting and noticed that 2 of the mesh panels were dangling/bent. They can easily be put back in place and held with some wire but I was wondering how much that would effect the signal reception. Can someone tell me?

On a 10 foot dish it shouldn't affect your reception much. I had a dish back in the early 90's that looked like it was shredded it was missing so much mesh and worked ok on most transponders. Today each transponder is putting out more power. Play with the dish a bit after you get it up and then you can decide if its worth the effort to replace those sections with new mesh.
