These are upconverting (red-laser) DVD players. Not HD DVD.

Yeah but they will play HD on a DVD or HD over a network if they are like my LP2. It pretty much takes the place of a PC, streams from a hard drive type server like an Infrant. Not totally, but close. This thing upscales to 1080p according to the website.

I am unfamiliar with the HVD format it discusses. Can anyone educate some of us on this?

Regarding optical discs; HVD is an initialism for either:

# Holographic Versatile Disc, a next-generation optical disc format
# High-Definition Versatile Disc, a Chinese DVD format

I did not read the article, but it is sure to be one of these.

It is though I bought my Snazio SZ1350 for the same price about a year ago. Make sure you check two things though: 1. it's possible to upconvert *any* disc via *any* input (aka CSS commercial disabler button combo) 2. all region is playable (aka region disabler button combo).

Thanks for your interest in our products.

1) Yes this player will be able to upscale all normal DVD titles into high definition resolution, and copy protected DVD title will be supported as well.

2) This player is all region models (region code free), you can play any region code DVD titles on this player.
