New Installation and OTA Antenna

Hey Guys,

I have two dishes, a 300 and a 500 with a dp plus lnb. They are together feeding two different receivers. I would like to ad an OTA antenna. I am thinking about putting the antenna after the 500 so the signal can go to both receivers. Is this a good idea or should I be looking at something else?

The antenna is an old terk that fits on top of a satellite dish, I have had no problems with reception from that antenna so I thought I would just use it. Also the antenna has its own switching interface with two inputs and two outputs.

You'll want to have the antenna after the 500 because the LNB IN on the DPP Twin isn't likely going to pass <950mhz. My only concern is if the Terk is rated above 1450mhz for the stacked DP signals and if it can pass the higher milliamps that the DPP LNB needs to function correctly.

It's really best to run a seperate cable for OTA.

Diplexing reduces signal on both satellite and OTA side.

Just re-read your OP. Those Terk clip on antennas are OK for local reception (similar to a coat hanger), but a real antenna would work better.
