Just got a Hopper with Sling installed today. Before upgrading, I saved all lot of shows from my 722K to my EHD. When I plug the EHD into the Hopper, I get the message that you have connected an external device to the USB port, but I do not see any of the files that are on the EHD.

How do I get the Hopper to display the list of shows that are on the EHD?

EDIT: I just noticed that my household key number in the new Hopper is different from what it used to be with my 722K. Do you guys think that might be the problem? If that is the problem, can Dish change the household key in the Hopper to match my old number?

When your EHD is recognized you should see the name of your Hopper (such as Livingroom 1) at the top of your saved program list. Click on the name and you should see the external drive listed. Just click on that and away you go!

Yes, the household key can be changed to a new number that works if you have not discontinued Dish etc.
You ask for a "hit". This will change all connected DVRs but not the EHDs. Somehow they still match.
Be sure all DVRs are powered. This is not a cure-all but I've done it a couple of times in many years.
The script reader may not know what to do but DIRT or a CSR that has been around a while will. A few seconds.
For multiple DVRs, 1 or more may have a slightly different key but they still work together on your account.

To see the key, use Yellow+Network Setup+Tests+View counters+many PageDowns (10 for my Hopper).
While there do 2 more PageDowns to set the latest file system check (Fsck), which will get changed each full reset.

You also might give it a few days for the Hopper to settle in. We've seen reports similar to yours and the programs came up on day 2....

You guys are right again! Last night I gave up trying to get the EHD files to show up, unplugged the EHD, and went to bed wondering if I had lost all of the programming that was on the EHD. This morning, I reconnected the EHD and right away all of the files showed up. It appears that the EHD is now working properly!

I guess it really does take a day or two before the Hopper settles down and becomes stable.

EDIT: BTW, my household key number is different from what it was with my old 722K. As KKlare said, even though the key is different, it still works with the EHD.

It is a number identifying the DVRs and the EHDs. Yet somehow they can change the DVR and it still works with the presumably unchanged EHDs, which may be offline at the "hit" time and most would be if you have many EHDs. (It is much better than DirecTV's marrying them.)
