New HD DVR

I recently installed an HD DVR hooked into my WB6x8. AFAIK, everything has worked out well the past couple of days. Today someone complained that some channels in the 229 - 235 range weren't working (at a minimum 229 and 230). The error was no signal on tuner 2. There were no recordings in progress. 229 works well on other receivers.

Repeating the satellite setup says that there's nothing on odd or even polarities for the 103 bird and the 119 bird is missing the odd polarity. I am located near Chicago.

First step is to do a restart of the receiver. Either from the menu or the Red Button. Also swap the inputs on the receiver to see if the problem moves to Tuner 1. If it does move then the WB68 may have a bad output or the coax to that tuner is compromised (corrosion etc).

Are you getting a picture on those two channels ?

IF so, try recording something and then go to that channel.
If you can record and watch at the same time, then your fine.

otoh, if you are not getting those two channels, thats a different story.

Are these channels "in" the Channel guide ?

What messages if any are you getting ?
