Mega Media, Voom copro deal bears fruit

NEWS BRIEF: Voom HD Network's high-definition fashion, beauty and style channel Ultra HD will receive two new one-hour Ultra Eye specials thanks to the copro partnership between its parent company Rainbow HD Holdings, Mega Media Pte and the Media Development Authority of Singapore.

The programming created through the October 2005 agreement is jointly owned by the three firms, and is also available for sale in the international market for three years following production.

Each Ultra Eye episode examines the culture of a stylish city, from its design to cuisine and fashion, with the latest episodes covering Tokyo and Singapore.

"When Singapore's Mega Media approached us to co-create quality HD content, we welcomed the collaboration. We were happy to produce additional episodes of Ultra Eye with them as it allows us to work with such a trendsetting production company," said Liz Dewey, VP of programming at Ultra HD.
 
VOOM's Ultra HD Premieres Ultra Eye: Tokyo and Singapore



Series is a Co-Production with Mega Media
New York, NY - March 7, 2006 - Ultra HD, the first channel devoted to the worlds of fashion, beauty and style in high-definition, announced today two new Ultra Eye specials to be co-produced with Mega Media, one of Singapore's leading production companies. Each Ultra Eye episode unveils the culture of a stylish city from its design to cuisine to fashion. The cities focused, in each of the one-hour episodes, will be Tokyo and Singapore. Past cities profiled included Hong Kong, Marrakech and Rio. Ultra HD is one of the VOOM HD Networks, the largest and most diverse suite of high-definition channels nationwide and currently available on DISH Network.
In October of 2005, Rainbow HD Holdings LLC, announced its co-production partnership with Mega Media Pte Ltd. (Mega Media) and the Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) to create high definition programming, available for sale internationally, over the next three years. All programming created through the partnership is jointly owned by Rainbow, Mega Media and the MDA, growing the programming distribution revenue potential of the organizations. Mega Media, one of Singapore's leading long-form media content providers and production companies, provides production and post-production expertise and facilities in Singapore.

Ultra Eye invites viewers to jet-set to the style capitals of the world. Each episode discovers the design culture of a new city. Topics covered include fashion, architecture, interior design and the culinary arts. The series helps to define a city's sense of style while bringing viewers a plethora of visually stunning high definition experiences. Since its launch in early 2005, VOOM has gone on to produce compelling original HD content for a wide variety of consumer interests including the largest collection of HD horror films; a live auction of one-of-a-kind memorabilia; animation for kids of all ages and action-adventure sporting events. This new announcement for Ultra HD confirms VOOM's commitment to growing and to investing in the brand's aggressive move into the marketplace.
 
Finally I was able to catch the singapore one and it was fantastic as well. These Ultra Eye programs are well produced and they show lots of excellent cultural, desing and architeture from each place. Singapore and Tokyo were excellent.
